Today, on the 5th of March 2024, the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) had the pleasure of hosting an enriching excursion for over 400 students from Dual Success Academy, Zaria. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of learning and discovery, these young minds explored all the important facets of our institute.
From the bustling laboratories where groundbreaking research takes place to the lush green fields where crops flourish under the care of dedicated scientists, the students were immersed in a hands-on learning experience that ignited their curiosity and passion for agriculture. They had the opportunity to witness firsthand the innovative techniques and technologies driving agricultural progress, gaining valuable insights into the diverse fields of study encompassed by our institute.
Guided by knowledgeable experts, the students embarked on a journey of exploration, visiting key areas such as our experimental plots, meteorological unit, and animal husbandry facilities. They engaged in interactive activities, lively discussions, and informative presentations, deepening their understanding of the critical role that agricultural research plays in addressing global challenges such as food security and environmental sustainability.
As the excursion drew to a close, the students departed with hearts full of inspiration and minds buzzing with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm. Their visit to IAR had not only broadened their horizons but had also sparked a passion for agriculture and environmental stewardship that will undoubtedly shape their future endeavors.
