NEMEDUSSA Module Trial Run at IAR

We are happy to announce the commencement of the Nematology Education in Sub Saharan Africa (NEMEDUSSA) Module trial run at the Institute for Agricultural Research, Ahmadu Bello University, starting today, February 27th, 2024, and concluding on February 29th, 2024.
Led by external assessor Prof. Biodun Claudius-Cole from the University of Ibadan and presented and promoted by Dr. Bulus Julius of Crop Protection Department, Ahmadu Bello University, this trial run marks a significant milestone in advancing nematology education in our region.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Dean Faculty of Agriculture Prof. S.B. Abdu and Head of Department Crop Protection Prof. R.S. Adamu. Both the Dean and HOD appreciated the consortium for the gesture in supporting Nematology Education through equipment donations and staff trainings.
With eager anticipation, 500L students of Faculty of Agriculture, Ahmadu Bello University will partake in the teaching evaluation. This module comprises 11 chapters designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in nematology.
Participants will have the opportunity to earn a certificate of participation, jointly signed by Ghent University in partnership with Ahmadu Bello University, acknowledging their dedication to advancing their understanding of nematology. We extend our gratitude to the European Union for their generous sponsorship, enabling the realization of this important initiative.
As we embark on this journey of learning and discovery, we are confident that the NEMEDUSSA Module will empower future nematologists and contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture in our region and beyond.
