Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Sabon-Gari Division Visits IAR to Strengthen Security Collaboration

Yesterday, 24th February 2026, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (Sabon-Gari Division, Samaru, Zaria) paid a familiarization visit to the Institute for Agricultural Research, Ahmadu Bello University, as part of efforts to build stronger institutional partnerships for security and community development. The delegation, led by CSC Ishaq Sulaiman Tsoho, was warmly received by the Executive Director, Prof. Ado Yusuf, alongside principal officers of the Institute.
The visit provided a valuable platform for constructive dialogue on collaborative strategies to enhance security within the Institute and its surrounding communities. Both parties emphasized the importance of proactive engagement, information sharing, and coordinated response mechanisms in safeguarding research facilities, personnel, and agricultural assets that are vital to national development.
In his remarks, the Executive Director appreciated the commitment of the Corps to fostering peaceful and secure environments that enable research and innovation to thrive. He reaffirmed the Institute’s readiness to work closely with security agencies in promoting safety, stability, and sustainable community relations.
The delegation also commended the Institute for its outstanding contributions to agricultural advancement and expressed confidence that the partnership will strengthen institutional security and support broader community well-being.
