SECONDARY SCHOOL, KOFAR DOKA STUDENTS VISIT IAR ON EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO
MARK WORLD SCIENCE DAY
Today, 13th November 2025, the
Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,
welcomed two sets of enthusiastic students on an educational excursion aimed at
inspiring the next generation of scientists and innovators.
The visiting groups included
students from Government Secondary School, Kofar Doka, and selected students
from various secondary schools across Kaduna State, coordinated by the Kaduna
State Ministry of Education as part of the 2025 World Science Day Celebration.
During the visit, the students were
introduced to IAR’s cutting-edge agricultural research activities, including
innovations in crop improvement, soil fertility management, and sustainable
farming technologies. They interacted with researchers, toured demonstration
plots, and learned how science and research contribute to national food
security and environmental sustainability.
The visit provided a unique
opportunity for the students to experience how scientific principles are
applied in real-life agricultural research and to motivate them toward pursuing
careers in science, technology, and agriculture.
The Institute commended the Kaduna
State Ministry of Education for its continued commitment to promoting science
education and for choosing IAR as a center of learning and inspiration for
young minds.
