Today, 3rd November 2025, the Institute for Agricultural
Research (IAR), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, proudly celebrates one of its
distinguished scholars, Professor Dauda B. Ishaya, a renowned Professor of Weed
Science and the current President of the Weed Science Society of Nigeria
(WSSN).
Prof. Ishaya was decorated as a Fellow of the Weed Science
Society of Nigeria (WSSN) during the 51st Annual Conference of the Society held
in Makurdi, Nigeria — a prestigious honor that recognizes excellence, scholarly
contribution, and leadership in the field of weed science.
For decades, Prof. Ishaya has demonstrated unwavering commitment
to advancing weed science research, mentorship, and sustainable crop production
solutions. His visionary leadership and impactful contributions continue to
