IAR Showcases Innovative Food Products at the 11th Nutritious Food Fair in Kano ????????
The Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, participated in the 11th Edition of the Nutritious Food Fair held in Kano, where it proudly showcased an array of innovative food products developed under its Product Development Research Programme.
The IAR team was led by Prof. Maimunat Abdulmalik, who represented the Executive Director at the talk show segment of the event. She highlighted the Institute’s commitment to promoting food security and nutrition through research-driven product innovation using locally available crops.
Visitors were highly impressed by the diverse range of nutritious and value-added products on display, including concentrate zobo, cookies, breads, and chin-chin made from sorghum, maize, soybean, and other IAR mandate crops. The exhibition attracted great attention, reflecting the Institute’s leading role in advancing agro-based food technologies for healthier diets and sustainable livelihoods.
The participation of IAR at the Nutritious Food Fair underscores its continuous efforts to bridge the gap between agricultural research and consumer nutrition, contributing to national goals of food sufficiency and value addition.
