ABU Leadership, Led by the Vice Chancellor accompanied by IAR Executive Director and others
Today, 26th September 2025, the leadership of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, alongside the Executive Director of the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), Prof. Ado Yusuf, the Executive Directors of NAPRI and NAERLS, and other distinguished university dignitaries, paid a high-level courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, CON, at the Katsina State Government House.
The strategic visit was aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and exploring areas of partnership, particularly in the field of agriculture and research-driven development, that could align with and support the priorities of the Katsina State Government. During the engagement, the university delegation highlighted various innovations, research outputs, and capacity-building opportunities within ABU — especially those emanating from IAR and other agricultural research institutes — that could significantly contribute to the state’s agricultural transformation and food security agenda.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda, a proud alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, who obtained his PhD in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology from the Faculty of Agriculture / Institute for Agricultural Research, warmly received the delegation. He expressed deep appreciation for the visit and commended the University’s relentless commitment to academic excellence, impactful research, and national development.
The visit marks a renewed chapter in the longstanding relationship between Ahmadu Bello University and Katsina State, setting the stage for future collaborations in research, agricultural innovation, and human capacity development — all aimed at driving sustainable growth and improving livelihoods.
