the Science of Weather: Model Learning Schools' Excursion to IAR
Today, on the 16th of February 2024, the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) had the pleasure of hosting a group of enthusiastic students from Model Learning Schools, Samaru - Zaria, on an illuminating excursion to our Meteorological unit.
As the students stepped into the meteorological unit, they were greeted by a world of wonder and discovery. With eager minds and curious eyes, they embarked on a journey to unravel the mysteries of weather and climate. Guided by our knowledgeable experts, they delved into the fascinating science behind weather forecasting, climatic patterns, and the impact of weather on agricultural practices.
From observing weather instruments in action to learning about data collection and analysis techniques, the students were immersed in a hands-on learning experience that brought the science of meteorology to life.
Amidst animated discussions and interactive demonstrations, the students eagerly absorbed knowledge and insights that will undoubtedly shape their understanding of the natural world and its interconnectedness with agriculture. Their visit to the meteorological unit not only sparked their curiosity but also inspired them to explore future pathways in science, technology, and environmental stewardship.
As the excursion came to a close, the students departed with smiles on their faces and a wealth of new knowledge in their hearts. Their journey to our Meteorological unit had not only broadened their horizons but had also ignited a passion for learning and discovery that will accompany them on their educational journey.
